Abstract

It is not necessary to insist on the importance of the author’s epistolaries; neither
in the interest of the one written by doña Emilia Pardo Bazán to communicate with Benito Pérez
Galdós. Another woman in Galdós’ life, Concha Morell, did the same; so that today we have two
different love letters addressed to the same person. The careful reading of both has allowed us to
verify the existence of a common cultural reference to both correspondences. The writer, then,
appears as a means of cultural transmission for the two interesting women.
