Abstract

The present study is an analysis of the figure of Pardo Bazán from the point of
view of journalism, of her conception of this medium of communication in the world of letters
and science. This examination of journalism and literature follows the writer’s journalistic
trajectory, from her beginnings in the Galician press until her more mature publications in the
world of Spanish letters of the moment. Also analyzed are her defense of journalism and its
importance as social media, a cultural medium that made it possible to disseminate new points
of view. The study also offers detailed information of the publications in periodicals in which
Pardo Bazan collaborated, from historical trajectories to their esthetics and ideologies.
